post polio survivours recovery time from injury

I have recently been told that post polio survivors take up to four times as long as everyone else to recover from injury to muscles, tendons and ligament. due to low blood flow to these areas and nerve damage. Is this true?

Hate to give an ambiguous answer but this depends on several other factors, including area affected from said injury, age, etc. On a purely cellular level the blood supply would be more problematic than ennervation (which would of course impair coordination and/or sensation.)
