Digestive and Bowel Disorders Question

08-03-2017

I have been suffering from an undiagnosed medical condition for about 7 years now. I feel nauseous every morning when I wake up. My body rejects basically any food or drink I consume aside from water. I can't eat breakfast because I am too nauseous and every time I do eat anything, I have stomach pain and worsening nausea. On some occasions the reaction causes me to vomit, but this is less common. I've tried smaller meals, fewer meals, different elimination diets, intermittent fasting, SSRIs, muscle relaxers, PPIs and a million other different prescriptions. I've done a barium study, a gastric emptying study, CT scans, X-Rays, etc. I've had two surgeries, one for appendicitis and one for complications which caused a bowel obstruction. I've had one or two other obstructions since the surgery in 2012. I have no desire to eat, I hate how I feel after I eat, but obviously eating is necessary to living. I just want to know what is wrong and how to fix it. I'm tired of not knowing.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. With two surgeries in past of gut, these discomforts are inevitable and treatment is mostly supportive and symptomatic. It is irritable bowel syndrome and needs supportive and symptomatic care.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
